Truckee Follies Returns-let the Roasting Begin!

If you haven't gone yet to see this outrageous show, produced "quasi-annually", then don't let another year pass! The Truckee Follies returns on April 23-26 at the Truckee Community Center, and this year's performance is sure to ease the tension we're all feeling right about now. Themed "Round-about Truckee" after our ever-growing concrete crop-circles, highly public persons and local issues will be torn at and publically humiliated in front of an audience enjoying drink, food and the luxury of being on the other side of the roast. “It’s a great tradition because we get to see friends make an ass of themselves,” Lynelle Tyler, the show's director, said. “If you’re the target of a joke, it’s only because you’re popular.” Tickets are already on sale, and all four performances are expected to sell out. The event is sponsored by the Truckee Downtown Merchant’s Association, and proceeds benefit the beautification projects in Truckee — from Christmas decorations to spring foliage. Revenue from ticket sales will also provide $1,000 scholarships to four Truckee high school students.
