If you haven't heard, Northstar California just gave its pass holders something more to cheer about: they now can ski at Verbier, Switzerland for 3 days this upcoming season on their Epic Pass (already good for Northstar, Heavenly and Kirkwood resorts in the Sierras). If you've never skied in the European Alps before, then you have no idea how great of an offer this is. I have, and it's outstanding. Bar none, the greatest turns of my life have occurred either in Alaska or in the Alps. Will I travel to Switzerland just to use my Epic Pass? Probably not, but it sure is a nice perk! Speaking of perks, the Mountainside Residences at Northstar California continue to march forward in anticipation of a strong buying season for their ski in/ski out products. Nestled in the side of the mountain (literally) you will find 2 of the inaugural products which appeal to the owner necessitating that early first run experience: Home Run Townhomes and The Glades Homesites. While Home Run has remained on market for almost 2 years now, and is now entering Phase 2 of development, The Glades had a small introduction this last winter, and is now getting dressed for the Cotillion. Final roads are paved, utilities are in place, and the private gated entrance is being constructed at the new roundabout circle marking the end of Highlands View Drive to public traffic. While still off-market for now, The Glades is actually Tahoe's best kept secret, with long-distance views, beautiful homesites, and ski back/ski out access from the 3 different ski-ways which wind their way through the unique community. There is nothing like it at any resort in California, and will surely entice the skiers who never bought at Beaver Creek to give Northstar a second (or third) glance. Curious?
